A member asked:

For the last 3 days i'm on 28 teva-clindamycine 300mg for a dental abscess. can the extraction be done if gums still inflated? thanks!

Depends: most of the patients we refer to dentists will not perform surgery / extraction on infected gums. I would consult a dentist or oral surgeon for the exact opinion. Good luck

Who's treating you ?: Ask them if they will proceed with the procedure if your gums are inflamed. most will want the infection to be under control.

Of course: Your dentist will remove the tooth and drain the abscess to eliminate the infection. The cleaning the infected area after "hot" tooth extraction will allow the wound to heal and prevent spreading of the infection.
