Sounds like next...: ...step may be either biopsy or further imaging like MRI/CTA. Could be something as benign as a lipoma (which are still not fun to have). Leg/knee weakness are probably a separate unrelated issue. Here's the deal with ultrasounds: they only image the *lower* leg vasculature. If you are still getting chronic LEFT leg swelling, it's time for pelvic vasculature imaging to r/o May-Thurner Syndrome.
