What are you asking?: To put it bluntly, there are 3 kinds of surgeons: the procedure-happy, those that aren't & vast majority that fall somewhere in between. Figure out where your Ortho falls. What has s/he said about physIcal therapy? Non/dominant shoulder? Age? If imaging is useless, next option = "diagnostic" exploratory arthroscopy, w/ agreement that if anything is found, surgeon tries to fix it. A lot to consider

OK: Depending on the severity of the tear, the Orthopedic surgeon may have, or should have told you that Physical therapy and medicine may be your treatment, or you may need surgical treatment. Best wishes.
