A member asked:

If i have pcos and ttc, would i have to take metformin first for a while before being able to start clomid (clomiphene)?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends on your doc: Different docs handle this in different ways. If you start on a high dose of Metformin initially, it can give you nausea and diarrhea. Many docs will start you on a low dose of Metformin first to allow your body time to adjust. Over time they increase the dose into a range that is helpful with PCOS and then start Clomid (clomiphene). Some docs don't use Metformin at all. Best wishes!
