Sevaral Choices: Insulin resistance (ir) is a progressive deterioration of glucose and lipoprotein metabolism. Abnormal lipoprotein, Insulin and glucose levels are seen over time. A combination of increased large vldl and small LDL particle numbers, and decreased large HDL particle number occurs very early in ir and can predate high glucose by a decade. Rising Insulin levels overlap lipoprotein particle changes.
