How is insulin resistance/ whatever metformin is used to treat diagnosed? what tests will test insulin resistance?(what people are put on metformin 4)

Diabetes type II: by definition has insulin resistance. Unless there is a compelling reason to test for insulin levels, having a clinical and demographic picture consistent with diabetes II is all that is needed. metformin helps that one; it doesnt work in type I.
