Shouldn't Mom want..: at least what the doctor wants in her pregnancy to make baby as healthy as possible? No family history of diabetes might give us an 80-85% surety that gestational diabetes will not occur. If the glucose tolerance test pushes that number up to 95-98% which is HUGE for the baby....isn't that worth 3 hrs. of your time?

Yes: You need to get the sugar tested to check for gestational diabetes even if no family history. If your baby's welfare is important to you you willmake time for the test.
