No, not all patients with pcos will be diagnosed with gestational diabetes, but you do have a higher chance of developing gdm if you had pcos, and often an 'early' 1hr glucola screen will be done to see if the patient has pre-existing diabetes.

Yes and No: Yes, you need to fast for the glucose screening since your blood glucose level is checked when you're fasting and then 1 hour later. No, pcos patients do not all develop gestational diabetes. However, your risk is increased if you're overweight or obese. Metformin helps reduce Insulin resistance associated with this type of diabetes, especially in these types of women.
