Can an oral glucose tolerance test be used to diagnose diabetes like a blood draw will if you're not pregnant?

Yes: However there are several different criteria for diagnosing diabetes, depending upon whether you're using GTT data, fasting glucoses, post-prandial glucoses or hba1c's. Check w/ your doctor. In reality, the exact diagnosis is an arbitrary distinction made upon a continuous line of time and data.
