Be honest with doc: Eating disorders are an area of discomfort for many physicians. We often do not think to ask about this kind of disorder. It will help to be as honest as possible. Expressing your concerns in an open and honest manor will help you get the assistance that you need. Often primary care docs are not trained in treating eating disorders so you may need a referral.
