Be honest with doc: Eating disorders are an area of discomfort for many physicians. We often do not think to ask about this kind of disorder. It will help to be as honest as possible. Expressing your concerns in an open and honest manor will help you get the assistance that you need. Often primary care docs are not trained in treating eating disorders so you may need a referral.

Eating Disorder: As with so many questions, "it depends." are you speaking about a friend, a parent, a doctor? Discussing your concerns about the possibility of having an eating disorder might best be done first with your physician, so that he or she can refer you to a proper treatment provider.
