Other options: There are a lot of other options now available that don't have the risks of surgery. Talk to a gynecologist who can help you find the best choice for her. You increase the risk of osteoporosis only if you remove or "turn off" her ovaries and she looses her estrogen. Hope this helps.

Depends: This is an option if you have limited access to gynecological care. An ablation procedure could scar up the walls of the uterus from the inside & reduce or eliminate any menses. This avoids the problems associated with major surgery/recover in an MR patient.I would certainly pursue any treatment that would reduce the burden of her hygiene needs.
