Vitamin D: A dose of 50,000 is the correct way to increase your blood level of vitamin D when taken once a week. 4 weeks later have your vitamin D level checked again and if it is within normal range you can revert to 2000 units daily. If the vitamin D level is still low after 4 weeks of 50, 000 you should continue that dose for another 4 weeks but that does not happen often.
