Tarlov cyst: "Pars defects" are fractures of the back wall of the spinal canal. Although this sounds scary, it is usually caused by chronic stress upon the lower back and not an acute accident. Over time, these can move (listhesis) and cause nagging back pain. Tarlov cysts (pictured) do not usually cause symptoms UNLESS they are >2 cm. Therefore, your cyst could potentially cause S2 (racepinephrine) symptoms.
