I'm having a spinal mri soon to view my scoliosis. on a spinal mri can the dr see everything else-i.e you heart, kidneys, stomach etc?

Here are some ...: Every imaging study has its own designated goal with specially formulated protocol to generate its best possible image detail; likewise, for spine. Although the image of heart, kidneys, liver, stomach, etc. may be seen, their details would not be as clear as the ones specifically designated and formulated for individual organs. More? Ask Doc - radiologist if available and necessary.

Not usually: as the study is limited to the spine. The method of seeing the spine clearly is to place a coil on your back to get best images. To see all those other organs would require a larger field of view and less information would be obtained about the spine. To see all those other organs, different study is needed.
