Probably normal: Recovery from surgery can include many symptoms, and different individuals have different symptoms. Weight gain is not at all unusual following hysterectomy. If your symptoms are very uncomfortable you should see your doctor. Otherwise, try to relax and allow your mind and body to recover. If the symptoms continue or get worse, you should be evaluated by a healthcare provider.

This can be normal: The ovaries may view the recent major pelvic surgery as an insult and decrease or shut down function for a period of time. They usually spontaneously resume function. If by 6 months menopausal symptoms persist and evaluation by a Clinician is indicated.

Need hormone check: You need to contact your surgeon and arrange a blood test to check and see if the remaining ovaries are producing enough hormone in your circulation. Sometimes the ovarian blood vessels get inadvertently tied preventing the hormones from entering the circulatory system especially if the ovaries were working prior to surgery.
