Both: Yes CODEINE can cause hallucinations and definitely can produce bad headaches in people who are intolerant to it...although in many instances it can be used to treat ACUTE headaches. I never use it for that purpose because of its side effect profile (mostly GI upset) and plus there are better agents for headaches and pain in general than codeine nowadays.
