Runs its course: Viral infections typically run their courses in 10-14 days, 7-10 if you're lucky.....I'm never lucky i guess! lol....Anyways, be aware that cough suppressant are poorly effective and using too much of them (especially over the counter types) can cause more coughing than curing it. I always recommend humidification to patients with coughs associated with viral respiratory infections. Seem to work.
