Need Dr and testing: See your Doctor and get tested with a Urine and reflex C&S testing done. The culture and testing for sensitivity will determine what bacteria is causing your UTI and the proper antibiotic that will cure the infection. The bacteria you have may be resistant to the antibx you are on. Also could be something else like stones in your urogenital system, etc. Get evaluated and tested/treated. G Luck!

See a urologist for: clinical evaluation, cystoscopy, a procedure to visualize the inside of your bladder, lab studies & reproductively-safe radiographic studies deemed necessary. The cause of your recurrent/persistent urinary tract infection, pain & gross hematuria, or bloody urine, will drive treatment. Seek referral from your OB to coordinate care.

Recurrent uti: recurrent or persistent urinary tract infections can be caused by kidney or bladder stones, connections between the rectum or colon and the bladder, urinary tract abnormalities or chronic inflammation of the bladder. With chronic antibiotic treatment resistant organisms grow and are harder to treat. You need a work up of your urinary tract.
