Osgood Schlatters: is actually an inflammation where the patellar ligament attaches to the tibial tuberosity and antibiotics will not help. The treatment is anti-inflammatories and rest. It usually resolves when the growth plate closes. Surgery may rarely be required if the symptoms persist despite physical therapy and medication.
