Myalgia v lymph node: With many viral illnesses, muscle aches (maylgia), incl. neck pain/stiffness is common.Another possibility is that your immune system, in fighting the illness, causes lymph nodes in your neck to swell.This also can cause similar symptoms.If this is common for you, you may try NSAIDS like ibuprofen or naproxen to relieve both the fever & pain.Stay away from aspirin while feverish (Reye's Synd risk)
