Nerve compression: You may have a compressed nerne or a neuroma.

I woke up this morning and all of my toes hurt when i bend them down. Its getting better, but 12hrs later they're still stiff. Whats causing this?

Several things!: Could be activity related-what did you the day or two before. Are shoes supportive and good fit. If the pain does last for more than a few days, it may represent arthritis. Many types affect the toes and mtps. See your doctor if it lasts. Temporary benefits may be had from aleve (naproxen) or motrin.
