Toe pain: The pain could be due to morton's neuroma (thicknening of the nerve in between the toes). I would suggest you see a podiatrist as other conditions may cause similar pain such sesamoiditis and gout.

Couple of ideas: There could be a nerve impingment or could just befrom the bone shifting in that position.
