A member asked:

Why do i still have kneecap pain 40 years after high school injury?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Chronic changes.: In general injuries usually cause structural changes which persist even after healing. These changes over time may worsen and lead to arthritic changes. Additionally, small changes in how we walk, to protect the injured area, may place strain on the injured area or other areas leading to further damage over time, inflammation and pain.
