My friend is still breastfeeding her son at 4 years old. is this healthy?

Extended nursing: Many cultures or those with particular belief systems will nurse their children for extended periods of time. Each circumstance is unique and should be considered in context. My general personal opinion is that breast feeding a preschooler is not nutritionally warranted, and has potential adverse psychological effects on both child and parent.

Bad choices: This more a her thing that the kids need. I consider it equivalent to a mom taking her kid to school every day instead of letting him/her ride the bus.The kid is not allowed to transition to what the others do. The kid remains emotionally frozen in a world dictated by mom. The other kids look on him/her as a freak and act accordingly. Loving parents let their kids grow up.
