A member asked:

I was 2 cm dilated. i am now 34 weeks. she has dropped very, very low. why aren't i going into labor?

No labor contraction: Until and unless you have regular uterine contractions of increasing intensity and frequency...(labor pains) associated with progressive changes in your cervix (dilatation, softening, shortening...)you are not in labor;your cervix may remain "2 cm dilated" for weeks. Hopefully you will not go into labor until term (38 weeks) and not have to have a premature birth and its risky complications.
