Dilation: At 29 weeks if you are one 1 cm dilated then preterm labor is a risk. Steroid injections should be done to accelerate the fetal lung maturity. There are medications that can be given if you are contractions. Measuring the length on the cervix via sonogram can be helpful. There is a test called a FFN (fetal fibronectin) that can be done to help determine the risk of preterm labor.
