A member asked:

Iud-mirena-inserted may 15/14 following abortion.period is normally on time since iud was done.period was due nov 3/14-3 days ago-.pregnancy possible?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Possible not likely : There is no contraceptive method that doesn't have failures. However, the Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD contains a progestin which makes periods much shorter and lighter almost to the point of being non-existent. It is much more likely that that is what is going on but you can always check a pregnancy test to be sure. Hope this helps.
