Possible not likely : There is no contraceptive method that doesn't have failures. However, the Mirena (levonorgestrel) IUD contains a progestin which makes periods much shorter and lighter almost to the point of being non-existent. It is much more likely that that is what is going on but you can always check a pregnancy test to be sure. Hope this helps.
