Sorry!: I am sorry to "hear" about your Dad however your question is unclear! The recovery from a stroke is SLOW in many cases and can take MONTHS! Don't give up hope and DON'T convey your doubts to your Dad! Encouragement should be the THEME! Hope this helps! Dr Z

May take time: Based upon information provided, can only respond generically. Your father may do best with a concerted rehab program, which includes physical and occupational therapies, but also speech therapy. Exercise within capacity and hydration and diet all could help.
