Slightly: Family history is important for risk of stroke, but only in that you should consider the common risk factors more seriously. These risk factors are smoking, blood pressure, blood sugar, atrial fib (if you have it), aneurysm (if that is what your family has) and cholesterol. If you have taken care of the risk factors, your family history will probably not be a risk for you. Hope that helps!
