Behavioral changes, including exacerbation of personality traits and aside from depression, frustration and anger have been described in post stroke patients. Follow up with neurology becomes critical in order to better delineate pharma/ non-pharmacological approaches for such patients.

Not a rare phenomenon, and would strongly urge psychiatric consultant to work closely with neurologist. Would start a specific stabilizing medication to deal with the imbalance of neurotransmitters, especially glutamate, which can occur secondary to neuronal damage. This can be controlled.
