Rice cereal: Rice cereal is generally introduced at 4 months of age. Developmentally your baby will let you know when he/she is ready. A baby should be able to move the solid from the front to the back of the mouth as opposed to spitting it out. Generally start with smaller amounts such as 1 tablespoonful and gradually increase the amount.

In college: Hi. I dont really mean waiting that long, but healthy babies, particularly if breast fed, don't really need nutritional supplements until 12 months. Grandparents generally want you to start much earlier. A good time to start is when your baby starts reaching for food. And rice is a good starting point. Consult with your own practitioner, but generally a kind of rice pudding without cows milk.
