YES! Please see doc!: Bipolar disorder is a chronic relapsing and remitting condition. If you've been off mood stabilizing medicines for the past year, it's not surprising that mood disturbance would show up again. It's even more likely if these were stopped suddenly (rather than tapered) yes it can get much worse without treatment. Please see your psychiatrist so you can get help and stability again. Unfortuately: Bipolar disorder is a recurrent illness that, like most medical illnesses, can be controlled but not cured-- when you go off of your meds it is just a matter of time until you get a reocurrance--see yiur doc & get back on the meds that helped in the past.
