Chronic diarrhea: Both IBS and IBD can cause diarrhea, but with IBD you may see some blood and pain. If you have not had any other systemic effects like weight loss or fever, it is most probably IBS. Diarrhea may occur with other conditions like malabsorption, medications, small bowel disorders etc. You may need some testings to get to the diagnosis

See doctor: although this can happen with eating too much fiber, floating stool suggests fat malabsorption. I suggest that you consult your doctor about this.

Diarrhea: Many possibilities. IBS and IBD do not have pain invariably, although usual. You need to have stool examined for parasites, cultured, tested with PCR for several potential pathogens and also provide a full detailed history of travel, dietary intake, sexual partners, other symptoms and undergo a physical exam. That will make this less of a guessing game. See a GI doctor. Hope you get better soon.
