Bite changes normal: The definition of orthodontics is to move teeth. Sometimes when the teeth are transitioning from one position to another the bite can feel very odd, even clashing together when eating or swallowing. This will all settle in as treatment is completed.

Be patient: Orthodontic treatment (braces) is a dynamic process; your bite will be changing during the treatment, especially during the first 6-8 months. You may notice and feel that things look worse before they look better. Be patient.

Yes: During the process of moving your teeth in Orthodontics, the teeth may not mesh properly this placed in correct position. The ultimate goal of your orthodontist is to align your teeth into proper stable occlusion or bite. Straightened teeth will look good, be easier to keep clean, and allow you to eat and bite efficiently. I would talk to your orthodontist about your concerns. Good luck.
