Colon inflamamation: Colitis is any kind of inflammation. Causes may include infectious, or inflammatory secondarily to other things like certain diseases, radiation , or secondary to chemotherapy for cancer.

Colitis: Colitis is a broad term used to describe either infection or inflammation of the large intertestine (colon). I know this isn't specific but the type of colitis you have depends on the cause.
