Just do IT!: Most of the time grocery stores can get different produce nearly year round. Remember the southern hemisphere has their seasons opposite those in north america. Adequate storage and refrigeration can help extend shelf life. Sure you can only get fresh local produce in season, but canned, frozen and even dried fruit is better than no fruit you can find the fruit, but you have to buy it.
