Less than 100: a number of trials have been done looking at the ideal heart rate control for atrial fibrillation, and the data suggests anywhere between 80-110 as the ideal resting heart rate. It is ok to be a little lower or a little higher, but heart rates that are not well controlled for long periods of time, particularly if they are too high, can cause symptoms and have adverse effects on the heart.
