A member asked:

Does a normal fasting glucose and normal a1c test rule out diabetes as a cause of neuropathy?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Generally yes: Hi. Neuropathy is the most poorly understood diabetic complication, and I've seen weird cases. Nevertheless, if your fasting glucose and and A1c are normal, I'd say the chance your neuropathy is due to diabetes is very, very low.
