They are right!: Appendix wouldn't be located that close to a hip bone for it to be what you think. If you get an anatomy book out and look at what's located in a male body at the location you're pointing to, you'll see the appendix is located higher up on the right side, and not near the hip bone. No worries. You sound healthy!
