Several thoughts: If a person has blood in saliva, but non on coughing, it suggests the blood is either coming from the gastrointestinal tract or the sinuses and nasopharyngeal area. Possibilities include bleeding gums, nose bleed, tumors in the sinuses /nasopharyngeal area. Reflux esophagitis or other lesions in the esophagus or stomach can cause blood in saliva. If it persists see ENT Dr first,If ok> GI Dr next
