Possibility.....: what pulmonary test is normal? Based on your symptoms, you may have acute bronchitis. That could explain coughing up blood and your chest discomfort. But, to be certain of the diagnosis, you need to be seen by your doctor so you can be treated. Coughing blood is a serious symptom that always requires evaluation. If you smoke, quit ASAP! See your doctor ASAP! Go to ER if shortness of breath occurs!
