A member asked:

Im always sneezing and my nose is itching and like i have cold.gone if i take claritine.is it safe always taking anti allergy medecine??

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Other meds may help: For most patient, taking an over-the-counter antihistamine such as Claritin, Zyrtec, or Allegra is safe. This may not be the most effective therapy for what sounds like chronic allergic rhinitis. Nasal steroids are frequently prescribed to control the inflammation. An allergy evaluation may be helpful to identity potential triggers, which could be avoided or even treated with allergy shots.
