Stiff tendons: Calcific tendonitis occurs when hydroxyapatite crystals form in tendons. This can cause pain and stiffness in the area of the tendon. Sometimes physical therapy is very helpful in preventing complications.

Other treatments: if painful, the use of NSAIDS, might help. or corticosteroid injections if painful
