A member asked:

Er dr took ultrasound of gallbladder & verbally communicated nothing abnormal; should i expect written report or images to share with my pc physician?

Dr. Bruce J. Stringer answered

Specializes in Radiology

Depends: If the only ultrasound that you had was done in the ER by the ER Physician there may not be a formal report of that study outside of any note in the ER record made by the ER Physician. Your PC Physician should be able to get a copy of the ER record if you sign for a release for the info or if you specified you Physician to the ER staff. A formal Radiology exam will have a separate report.
