Infection: Infection of teeth, gums, or both. Could be bacterial, viral, or fungal. No way to tell without examination, so get to your Dentist ASAP. NSAIDS may help to dull the pain, but will not cure the infection. See Dentist ASAP.

TakeABiteOutOfThis:: Sounds like you have what's called "gingivitis."That's an infection of the gums. Could be bacterial and/or viral. Needs to be taken care of sooner than later. Try Tylenol (acetaminophen) plus Motrin and mouth rinse with mild salt water (1/2 tsp in a large glass of water).Your painful teeth may be associated (referred) pain or an indication of extension of the infection deeper. All the more reason to be seen ASAP.
