Speak to her MD: I am uncertain how you know about atelectasis and not having mediastinal or hilar lymphadenopathy. Have you seen her studies? Hopefully, she does NOT smoke. Meds can be given to suppress cough, but usually cough is a protective mechanism. Please speak to her MD and try to help figure out what is causing her cough and then she can be treated specifically. Chronic Cough: Chronic cough can be caused by chronic lung infection, cancer, asthma, gerd and cardiac condition. It is likely unrelated to the minimal atelectasis on XR
