Easier to spot...: During ultrasound scanning, it is easier to spot a male fetus from a female fetus; hence the perception. It is also dependent on the experience of the technologist, the quality of the ultrasound machine, and the patients' body habitus.

Confusing question: Faster what ? The heart rate has no predictive value on ultrasound.(faster or slower) Depending on the cooperation of baby,male parts may or may not be detected by the technician.
