A 39-year-old female asked:

how can you tell if your having a boy or a girl.by the way your carrying or it or by the way the other babies inter act with the fetus?

Neither.: It doesn't matter how you are carrying the baby, whether s/he kicks, whether a gold ring dangling from a chain goes back and forth or around in circles, or any other old wives tale. Each pregnancy you have exactly a 50:50 chance of getting one or the other gender. Sex can be determined by ultrasound or amniocentesis (some of the amniotic flood is take with a needle and tested).

Where should our infant sleep when we stay in a hotel?

Portable crib: Most hotels will have cribs available to rent, but it might make sense to invest in a portable "pack and play" type crib. Babies need to sleep on a firm surface, and should not be in the bed with you. Also, since hotels are not "babyproofed", the portable crib can also be used to help keep an older baby safe.
A member asked:

Do I need to give my baby a helmet if he has a flat head?

Dr. Michael Amster
Specializes in Pediatrics
No: Not generally. Usually repositioning does wonders, making things of interest be on the other side of the room. Of course, make sure there isn't abnormal neck tightness, and that the flatness isn't too far gone. A pediatrician can tell if a helmet is necessary, but most don't need that. Once they sit up for awhile, starting at 4-6 months, the head returns to a normal shape.

Yes: Most women feel "quickening" or the baby moving for the first time between 15 and 20 weeks. It is not expected that you feel your baby move regularly until around 28 weeks.

What the best thing to use on infant heat bumps?

Dr. Shontae Buffington

Leave them alone: The best thing to do is to leave them alone. Try to get rid of the offending agent, heat, over bundling; consider an office visit if baby's skin does not improve. It may be eczema or another common childhood rash.

Can a virgin girl get pregnant with pre cum?

2 doctor answers5 doctors weighed in
Dr. James Ferguson
Pediatrics 46 years experience
?Pre- cum ?: The sexual fluids produced by males often contain healthy swimmers (sperm) apart from the "main load" .Fingers or other body parts that have contact with this material will have the potential to pass a healthy sperm into the vaginal entrance & from there gain access to & fertilize an egg.To avoid pregnancy you must have your barrier in place to trap these fluids before they begin to leak.
