Serial HCG checks: Usually, serial Hcg levels are used to monitor progress after embryo transfer so having the injection will not matter much.

Yes: If the test is sensitive enough it will be positive since it is a test for hcg. The quantitative hcg level will begin to rise however and that will monitor growth of the fetus. Best wishes.
