NSAID: Sounds like the bursa over the trochanter is irritated by this pressure. Non steroidal anti inflammatory agents like Aleve (naproxen) are helpful,,but I would see an orthopoedist or PMR doc for full evaluation and make certain this is a hip,and not a spine problem. Topicals can help, physical,therapy, injections and oral medications might be indicated, but diagnosis is required first
